Finite State Machine – Sound-Reactive Enemy AI
Built an event-driven AI that transitions between observation, approach, and attack states based entirely on player sound. The system ties alert thresholds to environmental cues and dynamically triggers matching audio feedback, creating a reactive and learnable monster behavior.
Modular Hallway Lighting System
Designed a hallway lighting system that degrades with player activity and can be temporarily rebooted. Each zone communicates with the global controller through events, allowing lights to fail, recover, or permanently shut down as tension scales through the game.
Flashlight Burst Mechanic – Risk / Reward Resource
Implemented a burst-based flashlight that doubles as both visibility and defense. The system enforces deliberate use through limited charges and cooldowns, while signaling danger when overused, blending utility and punishment into one mechanic.
Stealth / Locker Mechanic – Timed Safety System
Created a hiding system that grants short-term safety but penalizes over-reliance. The locker’s behavior adapts to sound cues and usage count, teaching players restraint and situational awareness rather than repetitive hiding.
Singleton-Based Game Architecture & Fuse Puzzle Logic
Structured the project around a central game controller for shared state management across systems. The randomized fuse puzzle feeds into alert progression and lighting events, ensuring consistent global communication between player actions and environmental responses.
